For our preliminary task we had to produce a front cover and a contents page for a school magazine. In order to do this I had to assess who the potential audience of the magazine is and design my magazine around this. I chose my audience as the students, parents and teachers of the school so designed a rough plan of my front cover on paper first. I have never used InDesign which we were to use to produce the two documents. At first I didn't understand it, and I still don't fully, however this preliminary task has helped me get to grips with it and now I understand it a lot more than before. Also, we were to use Photoshop to edit the main image. Ag
ain, I have never used photoshop before but after a little help from a friend I was able to edit the picture to how I wanted. I really liked the concept for the picture I took, and I think I edited it quite well seeing as I've never used the programme before. Again, for the contents page I was to use InDesign to produce it as well. In producing it, I was able to continue getting used to using the programme. I think both of the documents I managed to produce to an OK standard, however they could've been better with more time to produce them. However, producing them was good for me to build up my confidence in using the programmes which I will use to produce my music magazine; front cover, contents page and double page article.
